Lynch's Inverse Rule of Movie Commercials (aka the Anger Management rule)

If there is a new movie out (one week into release) and you watch TV from 8:00 PM to midnight - take the number of times you see a commercial for that movie and subtract that number from ten. This will give you a general idea of the quality of the movie (on a scale of 1 to 10).

For instance - last night I saw 6 commecials for the movie The Whole Ten Yards - meaning the movie is probably a 4 on a scale of one to 10.

Think about it - really good movie don't need commercials once they are released because of good reviews and word of mouth. Really bad movies need to flood the zone with commercials to overcome bad reviews and bad word of mouth. Remember all the commercials you saw for the Adam Sandler / Jack Nicholson movie Anger Management?
