Miscellaneous Thoughts

Some Memorial Day morning thoughts...

Hey - what ever happened to Mike Hall the guy who won ESPN's Dream Job competition? I've yet to see him on air... Holy Crap! You would never see a commercial like this in the USA!... With all the days off due to injury and all the walks - the potential exists for Barry Bonds to not qualify for the batting title (because of too few at bats) but still be in the top 3 in NL MVP voting... Quote for the day from Ted Nugent: "Ya gotta let the stupid people talk, so you know who the stupid people are."... Lance Berkman never seems to get credit for being one of the top young players in baseball. This is only Berkman's sixth season and already he has 139 HR, 470 RBI and a .303 career batting average, .414 OBP and .571 slugging percentage... So far this year the Expos have averaged just 9,746 for home attendance (which is by far the worst in baseball) yet for some reason the Expos have attacted more people on the road than either the Phillies or Dodgers (average road attendance for Expos 28,520, Dodgers, 27,436, Phillies 27,452)... I admit that now that the WSOP is over - I miss searching all the poker blogs for real time updates... Ben Affleck will be playing coach Don Haskins in the movie Glory Road. It is the story of the all-black 1966 West Texas basketball team that beat the all-white Kentucky Wildcats for the NCAA championship... Heh heh: Arnold Palmer vs. Clint Eastwood...
