Miscellaneous Thoughts

Some Sunday morning waiting for the first cup of Columbian thoughts...

Hey - Jose Lima pitched 8 innings of 2 hit ball yesterday for the Dodgers. The above picture is the only one I could find of Lima (I hope you don't mind - hey that reminds me - I need some cream for my coffee)... Calgary goes up 2-1 over Tampa Bay thanks to Jarome Iginla's Gordie Howe hat-trick (a goal, an assist and a fight)... The Giants are the hottest team in baseball (by record - going 9-1 in their last 10) but I remain convinced that San Francisco is a house of cards that is due to collapse... With Freddie Garcia giving up 4 earned runs in less than 6 innings yesterday - Curt Schilling has become the AL leader in ERA with his 2.82 ERA... The Lakers are the better team but if they spend too much time thinking about planning a victory parade (the NBA champion will definitely come from the West) then the Timberwolves can steal game six and set up a perfect storm situation for game seven in Minnesota... No truth to the rumor that Jose Lima's wife will replace the Twins in Coors Light commercials... Even though he lost yesterday - Zach Day remains the Expos most tradeable commodity... Kevin Youkilis has scored 12 runs in 10 games - he has more runs scored that hits (10)... Life is unfair - I'm still distressed by the fact that Joe Strummer is no longer with us while David Bowie still tries to tour... Here's the web site for the new WWII Memorial. The artist views of the site are breathtaking... On this day in 1977 - Dennis Eckersley throws a no-hitter against the Angels for the Indians... Happy 32nd birthday Manny Ramirez!
