Miscellaneous Thoughts

Some various thoughts on Mother's Day morning...

I think it's great that the crowd at Fenway gave Pokey Reese a curtain call for hitting two home runs yesterday (one inside the park)... I don't think it's fair for people to talk about the Tigers as having blown a ten run lead. They took the lead in their half of the inning and the Rangers took it away in their half of the inning.... Get ready to be bombarded with movie ads for Van Helsing because it looks like it's a bust and remember my rule of thumb - the worse the movie - the more ads you see... Let me get this straight - John Kerry calls for Donald Rumsfeld to resign and then uses the Iraqi prison scandal as a fund-raising tool and then his campaign staff lies about it... Michael Young has to be one of the big surprises of the fantasy baseball season. He has to be one of the top 5 players. Right now I would say it would be a three way race for AL MVP between Young, Troy Glaus and Carlos Beltran (although if the Royals continue as they have been - Beltran won't be in the running)... Happy birthday to Red Sox hitting coach Ron Jackson... More food for thought for those who wrongly think that we should pull out of Iraq and turn things over to the UN... Cuba, Venezuela, and the Dominican all speak Spanish and baseball is huge in those countries but in Spain - baseball is an afterthought. I wonder why that is?... Mark Cuban's thoughts on how to cut down the number of high school players makes perfect sense to me...
