Miscellaneous Thoughts

Some miscellaneous thoughts while I bask in the glow of a Red Sox win and have a cold beer...

Many people predicted that the AL rookie of the year would come from the Twins but everyone thought it would be Joe Mauer (and there is still time) but if the vote was held today - Lew Ford would be the unanimous choice for AL ROY... Likewise - I had Aaron Miles from the Rockies pegged as the NL rookie of the year but Miles has faded while his teammate Matt Holliday has made a strong push. Holliday leads all NL rookies in runs scored while hitting .355 with a 1.001 OPS... If the vote was held today - could Texas shortstop Michael Young be the AL MVP? Young is leading the league in runs and hits while third in batting average, fourth in RBI's and sixth in OPS. The shortstop from Texas may be the MVP two years in a row... Maybe the strangest thing about the season so far this year is who is leading the NL in saves. You have Graves, Benitez, Herges and Mesa - then you have Gagne, Hoffman and Wagner. Strange... I have never been a big fan of Friends and I did not watch tonight (Pedro was pitching). I think it would be great if CSI beat Friends in the ratings...
