Pedro Martinez

Did you realize that if Pedro had played for the Rangers instead of the Red Sox and he put up the same numbers - that Pedro would be number 1 all-time for the Rangers in strikeouts and ERA and second in wins?

Pedro has 1,484 strikeouts for the Sox - which is second in Red Sox history to Roger Clemens' 2,590. Charlie Hough is the career leader for the Rangers with 1,452.

Pedro has a career ERA of 2.28 with the Red Sox (which is only good enough for sixth place in Red Sox history - Smokey Joe Wood is first with a 1.99 ERA). Darold Knowles is the Rangers career leader with a 2.46. (What kind of name is "Darold"? Maybe his mother wanted to name him Danny and his dad wanted Harold and "Darold" was the compromise? He's lucky they didn't have their minds set on Frank and Huck.)

Pedro has 104 wins with the Red Sox (he's tied for 9th place all-time with Tim Wakefield). Charlie Hough is the Rangers all-time leader in wins with 139. Bobby Witt and Kenny Rogers are tied for second with 104.
