Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Went to see the new Harry Potter movie today and was impressed. The Prisoner of Azkaban is my favorite Harry Potter book so far and now it is also my favorite Harry Potter movie.

There was alot of ground to cover from the book and the director didn't waste any time explaining the basics of the Harry Potter story. So if you haven't read the books or seen the movies then you may be left asking who You Know Who is and wondering why Professor Snape is such a git or why Harry lives with such fat blowhards as the Dursleys.

I give the movie two thumbs up and will probably see it again in the next two weeks at the drive-in (always a fun family night out).

The new Dumbledore (Michael Gambon) is tough to adjust to because Richard Harris will always be Dumbledore. The character that seems most changed is Draco Malfoy - even though he is played by the same actor who worked the first two films (Tom Felton).

Just so you know - there isn't anything special to wait for at the end of the credits. It just ends. That tip may save a few minutes for the curious.

My favorite piece of triva about the movie so far is the fact that you get to see a cameo of Ian Brown (the lead singer of the Stone Roses) in an early scene where he is shown in a wizard pub reading Steven Hawking's A Brief History of Time.

EDIT: I should have also mentioned that I was a bit disappointed with how they showed the werewolf. It was a non-traditional werewolf and I just found it wanting
