Some thoughts while I enjoy my first cup of coffee on a Friday morning...

I'm not sure what to make of Jason Kendall. His batting average and OBP are great - .332 BA and .401 OBP as of today but his slugging is just .386. To me it is just strange to see a slugging percentage lower than a player's OBP especially for a player who is having a good year... Manny Ramirez and Vlad Guerrero lead all baseball in total bases with 143... Somewhere between reading the stories on not enough African Americans in baseball and the stories of people upset with Larry Bird for saying that basketball is a black man's game - I got confused... You know - Charles Barkley basically said the exact same things that Larry Bird did but he said it last year to little controversy... The NBA should make it mandatory that each NBA team make the 12th man a white guy who would have to stand and wave a big white towel to root on his team frequently during a game to accentuate his whiteness... The controversy over Larry Bird's comments has put the kibosh on the WNBA's planned new marketing slogan of "Where all the white women at?"... Martha Burk is set to protest at NBA offices because there are no women members of the NBA... Life in the school yard must have been tough for this guy...
