John Kerry and Guns

First consider this quote from yesterday:
In West Virginia, Cecil Roberts, president of the United Mine Workers of America, gave Kerry a rifle as a gift. Kerry, a self-described gun-owner and hunter, quipped: “I thank you for the gift, but I can’t take it to the debate with me.”
Now consider the following:

- He basically just said he wanted to shoot Bush. Imagine what the uproar would be today if this was reversed and Bush made that quote instead of Kerry.

- For a guy with a legislative rating of F from the NRA he sure seems to make the time for plenty of photo ops with guns on the campaign trail. If you can find an instance of Kerry just once voting on the side of gun owners - let the NRA know because they can't find a single instance.

- Kerry and Bush are both federal employees and Kerry basically makes a crack about bringing a gun to work while holding a shotgun. How would you feel if one of your co-workers said they wanted to bring their loaded shotgun to work while holding that shotgun?

- Do you think Kerry answered questions from reporters after making the statement or do you think he is still too afraid of what they may ask and avoided the press?

- Where's Rosie O'Donnell when you need her?

- This guy wants to be Commander in Chief?

EDIT: Oh the irony! Reportedly Kerry cosponsored legislation to ban the very gun he so proudly waves in the picture. Hat tip to It'z News to Me
