Red Sox Schedule

The Red Sox have 22 games remaining. They have 11 home games and 11 road games but only the six games against the Yankees (three home and three in New York) are against opponents with records above .500.

The Yankees have 20 games remaining (9 home and 11 road). Of the 20 games - 9 are against teams with better than .500 records (6 against Boston and 3 against the Twins).

The Angels have 22 games remaining (11 home and 11 on the road). Of the remaining games - 15 are against teams with better than .500 records. The Angels are 5 back of the Red Sox in the Wild Card race (and 7.5 back of the Yankees).

The A's have 22 games remaining (13 home and 9 road). The A's have a schedule just as difficult at the Angels (13 games against teams above .500 plus 2 against Cleveland who is just below .500).

I believe that the Red Sox will catch and pass the Yankees (the schedule is definitely in Boston's favor) but I don't think either the A's or the Angels will be able to catch the Yankees for the Wild card. As far as who wins the West - that's a coin flip between the A's and Angels.

Given the facts that the A's have a slim one-game lead over the Angels right now and the A's have more home games remaining - I guess the edge has to belong to the A's to make the playoffs.
