Player Comparison Street vs. Rivera

Mariano Rivera is under consideration for the AL Cy Young but if you are considering Rivera - what about Huston Street of the A's?

Street - 5-1 / 18-22 Sv-Op / 57 G / 68.2 IP / 65 K / 24 BB / 1.31 ERA
Rivera - 6-4 / 36-40 Sv-Op / 60 G / 66.1 IP / 69 K / 12 BB / 1.49 ERA

Interestingly, Rivera has been much better on the road than at home. At home he has a 2.45 ERA and 14 saves in 31 games while on the road he has a 0.30 ERA and 22 saves in 29 games. It should also be noted at his ERA pre-All-star game was 1.01 but more than double that in the second half - 2.05.

Street is the opposite. His home ERA is 0.93 and his road ERA is 1.80. 13 of his 18 saves have come after the All-Star game and his post break ERA is a stellar 0.70. It could be argued that Street has been more "clutch" in crunch time this year than Rivera.

Rivera is a Hall of Famer and maybe he has been more valuable than Huston Street this year (Rivera leads 14 Win Shares to 12 for Street but that is narrowing quick). I guess my point is that the question of who would you rather have for the rest of the season Rivera or Street is not as clear cut a question as it would first appear.
