Bruins Trade Jumbo Joe Thornton

I used to give Bruins GM Mike O'Connell the benefit of the doubt but no more. With this trade of Joe Thornton to San Jose - O'Connell has just proven to be the Matt Millen of NHL GM's.

In baseball or in hockey - you never trade a quarter for two dimes and a nickel and that's exactly what this trade is. Sure Thornton had a tendency to hang out behind the net more than a power forward should but he was a superstar. One of the 10 best players in the NHL. The Bruins are a last place team and Thornton (and Samsonov) were about the only reason to pay to see a game.

What's my motivation to watch the Bruins play now?
