Recasting Kelley's Heroes with NFL Coaches

Kelley's Heroes starting Clint Eastwood is one of the more underrated military classic movies of all time. It struck me today that it would be fun to recast the movie to star current NFL coaches.

Kelley (Clint Eastwood) - Bill Belichick (Patriots) - the mastermind of the movie and a guy cool under fire. It has to be Belichick.

Big Joe (Telly Savalas) - Mike Singletary (49ers) - the no-nonsense, in charge, get the job done sergeant. Both slightly crazy. Singletary just needs to shave his head to be the perfect match. Who loves ya Singletary!

Crap Game (Don Rickles) - Rex Ryan (Jets). Wise cracking is what they bring to the table. Which is a good thing because they don't offer much else

Sgt Oddball (Donald Sutherland) - Jack Del Rio (Jaguars). Come on - you know Del Rio is a little nuts.

Moriarty (Gavin MacLeod) - Minnesota coach Brad Childress. He's actually the guy who got me thinking about this in the first place. Spot on for Moriarty.

Major General Colt (Carol O'Connor) - Jerry Jones - I know technically Jones isn't an NFL coach but this one is perfect! Can't you see Jerry Jones chasing the action trying to hand out medals?

Captain Maitland (Hal Buckley) - Jim Zorn (Redskins) - Captain Maitland had no say in what Kelley and the boys were up to. Jim Zorn ditto with the Redskins.

And just for the heck of it we'll make Eric Mangini (Browns - for now) the Nazi Tiger tank driver from the end of the movie.
