The Bullpen Gospels

An excellent book for fans of baseball - especially minor league baseball. The Bullpen Gospels gives an excellent look inside the world of a minor league pitcher. The fears, sexual escapades, the insecurity and the lack of glamor are all exposed in this very well written tome.

Don't get the book looking for dirt regarding steroids or other matters. Dirk Hayhurst doesn't really address steroids and the only "name" players (at least to me) are Chase Headley and Trevor Hoffman (back when he was on the top of the hill). Not giving anything away from the book but Dirk Hayhurst made it to the bigs and lost his virginity! He's currently playing in the Blue Jay organization.

The book has a few laugh out loud scenes and lines. I heartily recommend it.
