Linky Links

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- Good stuff - an oral history of Larry Bird's 60-point game vs Atlanta

- Tom Brady living the life

- 9 facts that tell the true story of Johnny Appleseed. Missing from the list is that he died in Fort Wayne, Indiana and that he died of syphilis (maybe)

- Good point - here are the QB's the Patriots will be facing next year. Scary! [sarcasm font off]

- This story is messed up on so many different levels. Indian bride walks out on wedding after groom fails simple math test.

  1. Regarding bride who called off the wedding over a math question I had two thoughts.
    1. Pretty scary that any adult can't do simple addition.
    2. Pretty obvious he dodged a bullet there whether he realizes it or not.

  2. Agree 100% on both points.

  3. Reminds me of this old joke (insert school of choice):

The star football player for the Aggies was failing his math class at the semester and had to pass his exam in order to play in the game that weekend at Kyle Field. The professor and the school board get together and decide to ask him one question at halftime of the game. If the aggie answers the question correctly, he passes and can play. However, if he answers incorrectly he fails the course and is ineligible. Well the game finally rolls around and everyone is anxious about the question.
At halftime the player and his professor go to the center of the field and over the loudspeaker the professor asks the question "What is two plus two?" The aggie thinks and thinks, finally he asks the professor if he can use a calculator. The professor says "No, your time is up". In desperation the aggie shouts into the microphone "Four!"

With that Kyle Field erupts into the chant of "Give him another chance, give him another chance!"
