John McCain

With the passing of Senator John McCain - I thought I'd share two stories from the archives about John McCain. Stories that I think reveal the man's true character.

The first is McCain confessing to being "broken" while a POW. But how that experience allowed him to be remade by the love of his fellow prisoners.

The second is how he may have saved the life of a desperate man while campaigning in New Hampshire.

    His legacy, unfortunately, will be the betrayal of his party and the voters he was supposed to represent.

    I often disagreed with McCain's political choices.

    But politics aside - the man was an American hero.
