Have a theory that divorce has become much more prevalent in our society simply because people are living longer. In older generations even unhappy couples stayed together because they figured they only had a little time left anyway - why go through the hassle of a divorce? Now people even after a 20-years of marriage think, "I don't want to spend the next 20-years with this person."
