Linky Links

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- The nuclear SMP race is down to the wire.

- From the archives: The general wisdom of Ulysses S. Grant.

- Jonathan Turley on the Left's lawfare machine. Illegal criminal immigrants -they left just can't quit them.

- The American missile crisis.

  1. Not sure why the Small reactor shouldn't be more abundant -- after all they put them on boats (submarines) and people live and work no farther than 600 feet from the power plant. Yes, the whole ocean acts to cool it continually, but I should think waste heat could be put to use to generate even more power. There are two nuclear reactors at least, in Massachusetts, one in Watertown and one in Lowell, that I think are still running.

    1. There's another that everyone forgets and for some reason don't talk about but that's under WPI powering the campus. And old school SFR under that second largest city in New England.

Also forget but is Seabrook in MA or NH?

    2. Seabrook is in NH -- in spite of the Massachusetts people who tried to prevent its existence. Mike Dukakis (remember him?) and the "Clamshell Alliance" almost prevented it from being built.

    3. Last I heard Dukakis was a professor in Hawaii. Seabrook beach is in Mass though - think that's what confuses me.
