Dolly Parton is the epitome of decency and class. She knows she's never been a Rock and Roll singer and has no business in their Hall of Fame. If only the people who run the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame had as much common sense.

In the Dark Ages questioning any dogma of the Church got you labeled as a heretic. Today questioning any leftist dogma can get you labeled as a racists/homophobe/ name the slur and cancelled. This process eventually got old in the Dark Ages and helped lead to the Enlightenment. Hopefully some light will shine through in our age as well... Detachable Racism would be a good name for a band (or a cable news network)... When exactly is yodeling season? Did I miss it?... Who is the most underrated band of all-time? The critic goes with Los Lobos partly on the logic they are not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. You know who else isn't in the Hall of Fame and is even more underrated? Bad Company... Who knew? Steven Glass was just ahead of his time in the new journalism... I know my ass from my elbow but I couldn't tell you the difference between a castle and a keep... Do you think deep down the climate change people are upset with the BLM people for stealing all the political oxygen (and fund-raising dollars)?...

Is it wrong that going forward I'm going to judge a person's intelligence on whether or not they use TikTok? It's socially unacceptable to use the "R-word" today but we could certainly use TikTok instead. "You never go full TikTok"... Wailing Monkey Climbing Tree would be a good name for a heavy metal Barbara Streisand cover band... "Nature never deceives us, it is we who deceive ourselves." - Jean-Jacques Rousseau... This is seriously cool... If people really want to protest something they should protest the fact that Bad Company is still not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. That's a protest I could get behind... In these times of trouble please remember that Epstein didn't kill himself... Happy 49th birthday to Elon Musk. Maybe 50-years from now this day will be a national holiday...

Ginger Baker

Rock legend and drummer extraordinaire Ginger Baker has passed away at age 80. You can see his virtuosity in the above drum "battle" with Art Blakley. Ginger Baker invented the drum battle. And the rock drum solo too!

As a reminder - just 10-years ago there was real concern that the unemployment rate under Obama was going to reach 10%. How soon we forget... "God is an intelligible sphere whose center is everywhere and circumference nowhere." - The Book of Twenty-Four Philosophers...  Cool - "Carmen" on the ukulele. Very talented artist... Learned this weekend that Bad Company is not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. How is this possible? It's like learning that Carlton Fisk is not in the Baseball Hall of Fame...  Thinking of writing a series of books called The Adventures of Olive Picasso. It would be about an anorexic world famous artist and her yacht enthusiast boyfriend with massive forearms and their (mis)adventures... Ernest Hemingway on alcohol and ending the "mechanical oppression"... Baphomet's Hangover would be a good name for a band or fantasy football team... 

Warren Zevon

In my opinion it is criminal that Warren Zevon is not already in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It is outrageous that he hasn't even been among the nominees - unlike Chaka "freakin'" Khan!

Here's a good look at the injustice of situation.

Recently I had a post about Lawyers, Guns and Money but I just wanted to clarify - that post was about me becoming a more mature adult - not a criticism of Zevon.

The irony is I doubt Warren Zevon himself would give a damn about the Hall of Fame. He'd just want you to appreciate your sandwich.

So the Red Sox have signed AJ Pierzynski to a one-year deal. This feels a lot like when the Boston Bruins acquired Ken "the rat" Linseman. Will be tough rooting for AJ... Jesse Owens' Gold Medal from 1936 Berlin Olympics up for auction... The Nationals were lucky to get Doug Fister for almost nothing. As lucky as an average guy who happens to be in the right place at the right time when a super model decides she needs to have revenge sex... Vintage advertisements that weren't exactly politically correct... The BBWAA needed 4 tries to elect Rogers Hornsby to the Hall of Fame. Very, very flawed process... 19 shocking facts about Detroit's bankruptcy... Jarrod Saltalamaccia was a solid player and top shelf person during his time in Boston. I wish him nothing but the best with his new team. Godspeed Salty...  I think this idea was written only half in jest. I think it would actually work. Why not naming rights for sections of the newspaper?... Funny how some people who think it is wrong to lie to kids about Santa and the Easter Bunny still hold fast to the idea that Obamacare is actually a workable solution... Glorious! Dropping a red hot nickel ball onto various things. I love the Internets!... All the baseball Hall of Fame debates are petty compared to the injustice of KISS not being in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame...
