The Expresso Book Machine

Would love to open a coffee shop / bar with one of these as a centerpiece one day. Though I do worry that the company hasn't updated their website in 7-years.

  1. I am not sure of the viability of that enterprise. Note that the book being created in the video is written by the founder of the company. Impressive to think that such a task is possible, but will it sell? Not many people know much about book printing, it is an impressive craft. Most people take a printed book for granted, not realizing what goes into it.

  2. Maybe the viability of the enterprise is why their website hasn't been updated in 7-years.

Think if you have the rights - think this could be a winner in college towns where it could be cheaper for students to print their textbooks instead of buying them. Of course those rights are highly protected by the folks who sell the textbooks today.

  3. Only a few sites in the US offer this machine as per the website, which you note has not been updated for seven years. I did order the book the fellow wrote out of curiosity, but the "old fashioned" way -- on Amazon.

  4. A little research on Mr. Epstein: he died this year in February, but was quite a figure in the publishing world.

  5. Epstein was an interesting character. Still unclear if the Espresso company is in limbo or out of business with a zombie website.
