Recently completed the first season of the Netflix series The Sandman based upon the graphic novels/comic books by Neil Gaiman. I liked it very much.
Been a while since I read the books but the series seems to have stayed pretty much true to the source material and I view that as a good thing.
Tom Sturridge as Dream was a fantastic bit of casting as getting the lead character right was the fulcrum of the whole series. The smaller roles were also well done with an almost who's who of well known actors populating the roles. Names like Patton Oswalt, David Thewlis, Stephen Fry, James McAvoy, David Tennant, and Derek Jacobi plus Mark Hamill and Neil Gaiman providing voice roles.
Looking forward to season two.
