Lost Horizon
Currently re-reading Lost Horizon by James Hilton and this paragraph stood out for me:
The whole game was doubtless going to pieces, but fortunately the players were not as a rule put on trial for the pieces they failed to save. In that respect financiers were unlucky.
The more things change the more they stay the same.
As I mentioned was re-reading the book. Was curious about that too the first time around and think I checked and it was the first book that was printed in paperback. It was very popular basically what Ian Fleming's books were to a later generation. FDR was a big fan.
I'd actually like to know more about the tag line under the title in that picture.
