New doctors must take the Hippocratic oath to first do no harm while federal officials are sworn to uphold the laws of the Constitution. Yet breaking of these oaths has gone largely unpunished. I say its time to make these oaths mean something again. Anyone who breaks one of these oaths should have to face the same charges as they would for perjury because that's what they're doing.

"Yet of all reported versions of Henry's speech at Agincourt there is one that speaks most clearly to the simplicity of the situation, the apparent state of Henry's mind, and the severe public image he has tried to project since the day of his coronation. The army, for all that the men are weak, hungry, wet, cold, and tired, is prepared to fight. The troops are lined up as well as they can be. Henry has shown his men over and over again what he expects from them, and has tried to instill in them his own belief that God wants them to defeat the French. So the time for grand standing is over. One London chronicler gives Henry the briefest but most believable three-word speech as he sends his men into the fight.
"Fellas," he says, "let's go."...
That henry has inspired his small and weak army to overcome the larger, fresher, more confident, and more glamourous French one is not just the basis for a dramatic legend: it is military fact." - Dan Jones Henry V

Did not comment of the "story" of the DoD taking down Jackie Robinson's page because it was clearly a mistake. Jackie Robinson was an American hero and this was clearly a mistake that was soon rectified. Our history is our history - good or bad. Change is tough and don't feel I can say it enough but the Democratic Party has forced me to change my party affiliation from "D" to "I" by moving further and further to the Left on issues. The day after Saint Patrick's Day is a lot like the day after Christmas. On the day after Christmas all the Christmas carols suddenly stop and same thing with Irish music on the day after St. Paddy's day. The difference is you'll hear Irish tunes sprinkled in during the rest of the year but not so much with Christmas songs. Christmas songs make up for it though by being played incessantly for a full month before the holiday.

Saint Patrick is remembered for driving the snakes out of Ireland. Saint Cornelius was said to have driven the squirrels out of Ireland. This "miracle" of Saint Cornelius later proved to be his undoing. During the Great Potato Famine starving Irishmen and women wished they had tasty squirrel meat to eat and they cursed Saint Cornelius for driving out the furry rodents. In response to this outrage - Pope Pius IX removed Cornelius from the roll of official Catholic Saints.
His traditional Feast Day was celebrated April1st.

Wrote this two years ago and in hindsight I'm struck by how the parallels between the two were so obvious:
Joe Biden and his State Department signing the US on to the UN's Pandemic Accord smacks of Woodrow Wilson and his State Department signing the US up for the League of Nations. Which was not ratified by Congress and was therefore relegated to the dustbin of history. What's next for Biden? A massive stroke which puts Jill Biden secretly in the place of acting President?
The UN Pandemic Accord was never ratified by Congress and the treaty deadline passed with little fanfare and to add insult to injury - President Trump has pulled the US out of the WHO which wrote the treaty. Meanwhile, it wasn't a stroke that put First Lady Jill Biden in charge but instead rapidly declining mental ability.
Worthy of a longer post but like many people right now I just want to forget Woodrow Wilson or Joe Biden ever happened. But if I ever do write something I hope to use more skill than shown in the quoted paragraph above.

"Some sixty miles beyond Prague it turns southwest to form a low range between Czechoslovakia and Germany that is called, in German, the Erzgeburge: the Ore Mountains. The Erzgeburge began to be mined for iron in medieval days. In 1516 a rich silver lode was discovered in Joachimsthal (St. Joachim's Dale), in the territory of the Count von Schlick, who immediately appropriated the mine. In 1519 coins were first struck from its silver at his command. Joachimsthaler, the name or the new coins, shortened to thaler, became "dollar" in English before 1600. Thereby the U.S. dollar descends from the silver of Joachimsthal.

Think an under appreciated aspect of last night's speech by Trump was his proposal to make car loan interest on any car made in the USA tax-deductible. That could both spur more domestic production and be a big winner for taxpayers who may already drive an American car. This would have to pass Congress but if it does look for a spate of advertisements for 0% interest for foreign made cars or ads touting how a particular model is made right here in South Carolina (or fill in the state).
