Don't be surprised if VP JD Vance takes a hard line with the Iranians in the peace negotiations in Pakistan. Politically allowing Vance to appear serious is wise politically and the mullahs real don't have any cards to play. In reality they're fighting for either minor concessions or death from above. Don't be surprised if another venue is chosen either - so the Pakistanis know they need to make this time work as well. That subtly puts them on our side.

JetBlue, Delta, United Airlines and others have all raised their checked bag fees due to the rise in fuel prices. These are the type of fees that don't come down - even when fuel prices come back to pre-war levels. Look for the fight for overhead space to get even more heated as people stuff even more into their carry-on bags. Airplanes just got even more cramped.

There are many questions that occur to me and to others when looking at the "real" world. It is said that science can identify only 5% of the matter that makes up the universe. The rest have been given the names of dark energy or dark matter as if giving the unknown names made the issue solved or "settled science." It is also said that the more we know the more we learn how little we actually know. This is especially true of physics.

Congrats to Michigan for beating UConn for the National Championship last night. The game played out as I predicted with a close game at halftime and the Michigan pulled away in the second half. Yesterday Pope Leo XIV became the first Pope since 1994 to personally carry the cross for all 14 stations of the cross on Good Friday. Admit that I'm having flashbacks growing up Catholic and of having to just go through each station at catechism.
