Day the Old Democratic Party Died and New Democratic Party Was Born

Revised from the archivesThis week marks the anniversary that I expect will pass with little fanfare. The historical significance of the anniversary should not be underestimated though.

An unspoken connection between abortion and illegal immigration (and cheating).

This is also Why the Democrats Need to Import New Voters

They've aborted the children who would have grown up to vote like their parents. (Chart via)

The Vetting of Tim Walz Begins in Earnest

The vast majority of Americans polled (71%) say they weren't familiar with Minnesota Governor Tim Walz. That's quickly being remedied. Now you have to wonder if a new VP candidate will be chosen at the upcoming DNC convention in Chicago.

- Stolen valor? The retired Command Sergeants of the Minnesota National Guard basically call Walz a coward who quit rather than serve active duty in Iraq. Remember this whenever anyone calls him an Iraq vet. The letter states, "literally no one quits the position he was in, or quits the academy. Except him." basically calling him a coward not worthy of respect.

- JD Vance on Tim Walz. Can't wait for that debate.

- The widow of slain Minnesota policemen Josh Owen told Tim Walz not to attend her husband's funeral. "I don't appreciate people that don't support law enforcement."

- Tim Walz record on abortion is not something to be proud of.

- More on Tim Walz' military service.

- Tim Walz and Covid

- Minnesota resident Michele Tafoya on Tim Walz.

How Dave Chappelle Predicted the Collapse of Roe v Wade

The man has a very good point. This is something I've been thinking a lot on recently.

Abortion and Responsibility

Glenn Greenwald on the Supreme Court Roe v Wade controversy. "The Court, like the US Constitution, was designed to be a limit on the excesses of democracy. Roe denied, not upheld, the rights of citizens to decide democratically." Amen!

The key bit to me:

Alito's decision, if it becomes the Court's ruling, would not itself ban abortions. It would instead lift the judicial prohibition on the ability of states to enact laws restricting or banning abortions. In other words, it would take this highly controversial question of abortion and remove it from the Court's purview and restore it to federal and state legislatures to decide it.

Flotsam and Jetsam

Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.

Rumors are that the Biden Administration is set to allow vaccine mandate exemptions to any woman who can show she's had an abortion. A DNC spokesperson is quoted as saying, "We know what's important to our base. Abortion passports are the next big thing"... Voluntary Consent would be a good name for a band (or a new political party)... This is an excellent point... The Magical Abacus would be a good name for a sketchy accounting firm... Would be amused by a short animated video of hockey players telling each other on the ice, "Let's go boys!" Cut to the home fans saying, "Let's go boys!" and then the visiting fans doing the same. Then switch to a rugby pitch where the players and fans are doing the exact same thing. The two sports are very similar in mindset but you could never combine the two. Rugby with sticks would be very dangerous and on ice the combined sports would cause even more havoc. Although Rugby-Hockey the video game would be pretty cool... Think if you polled bartenders which item women tend to leave at a bar the most between cell phones, credit cards or little black sweaters - the little black sweater would win in a landslide... And yes - I know that field hockey is already a thing...

Day the Democratic Party Died and New Democratic Party Was Born

Today is an anniversary that I expect will pass with little fanfare. The historical significance of the anniversary should not be underestimated though.

On January 22, 1973, former president Lyndon Johnson died and with him died the old ways of the Democratic Party. The backroom deals and arm twisting. The acknowledgement that the Democratic Party was first and foremost the party of the working man and his family. "God, country and a fair wage" could easily have been the motto of the old Democratic Party.

On that same day, 47-years ago the new Democratic Party was also born. On that day, 47-years ago, the Supreme Court handed down its Roe v Wade decision which in effect decriminalized abortion and magically turned it from a medical procedure into a woman's right in the process. Since Roe v Wade the Democratic Party has never been the same. Where do you stand on abortion is the first and foremost question any candidate for any office is asked. The abortion party has also become the protest party. "Judge - you and your wife have kids - so you obviously are against having abortions - therefore we must protest you and we must do it naked while throwing pies." Make no mistake this new Democratic Party is about abortion first (although immigration is creeping up the list) - every other issue is secondary - including the economy and national defense.

Since January 22, 1973 the Democratic Party has not run a candidate for President who has not been pro-abortion. This includes John Kerry who said he's a Catholic but that doesn't make sense since the Catholic Church is staunchly pro-life. I'm not optimistic that I'll see a pro-life Democratic candidate in my life.

The fact that the anniversary of the death of the old and birth of the new Democratic Party does not get any recognition is not surprising. Nobody celebrates or notes May 30th as the birth of the Republican Party.

Linky Links

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- 50 things no man over 40 should own. Good list but do have some minor disagreements like #8, #10 (my wardrobe is at the point where every day is casual Friday and I like it that way), #14 (I have a pair of leather LL Bean sandals that I wear constantly during the summer) and maybe #16 (thinking of getting an American flag one to wear at the beach to make others uncomfortable as a joke). Via Cultural Offering

- Of the 70,083 abortions in Florida in 2018 less than .05% were for incest, rape or the life of the mother being in danger.

- Amelia Earhart on motivation, education and human nature in letters to her mother.

- Heh Heh

- NASA's full Artemis plan revealed: 37 launches and a lunar outpost. The big question is going to be "How are we going to pay for this?" Legitimate question - keep in mind that the Democrats wanted to kill the space shuttle program in 1968 because of the costs. The election of Richard Nixon is what saved it.

- Heh Heh - these are pretty good.

Let's Talk Some Politics

Today's political post is brought to you by the words "Long Memory" and "Values".

1. When it comes to "Long Memory" the Media may have covered for Democrats in both the past and present but other Democrats have a long memory. Bill Clinton is basically radioactive at this point because of his philandering (#MeToo).

Even Barack Obama is not safe with Rep Ilhan Omar going after the 44th President saying he was responsible for the "caging of kids" at the border and who was guilty of drone murder but who got away with it because he was more "polished" than Trump. How long before Obama is heckled on the campaign trail by this new Left? My guess is just once will be enough for him to withdraw into his own world. His supporters will be offended by the way he will be treated and many probably will stay at home on election day 2020.

There's going to be a lot of digging through people's past words and actions. And the "guilty" will be held accountable - because the other candidates (and Russian bots) are going to make sure of that! Elizabeth Warren is toast because this. She just hasn't realized it. When Joe Biden announces look for a long trip down memory lane for Creepy Uncle Joe sponsored by Democrats who remember. This will serve to both tatter the reputations of the current candidates but also the MSM. "Wait that allegation is true - how come this was never reported?"

2. The Democrats don't know what they stand for anymore and some are now going after what used to be core constituents of the Democratic Party. Namely the Jewish and Catholic vote.

The Democrats have had an ant-Israel and anti-Jewish bias for a while but now it's official. President Obama was the most anti-Israel President of my lifetime (even worse than Jimmy Carter). Rep Omar openly makes vile anti-Semetic and anti-Israel comments and the Democratic leaders are powerless to do anything. Their response was literally a joke. And more fodder for President Trump.

The Democrats also showed their true colors towards Catholics during the Kavanaugh conformation hearings. The Knights of Columbus are already under attack. There are 1.7 million Catholics in Wisconsin - almost one-third the total population of the State. Wisconsin was a key to Trump winning the 2016 election. And the Democrats have recognized the importance of the State by announcing it will the the site of their convention. But how will that go over when most of the candidates go on record as both anti-Jew and anti-Catholic? Doesn't sound like a winning strategy to me.

I just can't wait to see what happens when people like Rep Omar go after late-term abortion because the Koran is against it.

Flotsam and Jetsam

Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.

In the wake of the Patriots Super Bowl victory many sports journalists were saying this season may have been the best coaching job in Bill Belichick's Hall of Fame career. Yet many of these very same journalists never (including this season) vote for Belichick as NFL Coach of the Year... You seriously have to wonder if the reason the Catholic Church in the US isn't excommunicating politicians who claim to be Catholic yet who also publicly support later term abortion is because the church is afraid those politicians would retaliate by going after the church for protecting pedophile priests... Speaking of the church - oral sex promoted in the Bible!... Still think that a sitcom about All-State's Mayhem guy dating Progressive's crazy girlfriend Flo would be worth watching... "The Constitution only gives people the right to pursue happiness. You have to catch it yourself." - Benjamin Franklin... Adolph Hitler's sister in-law was named Bridget. Bridget Hitler. That just sounds funny to me. Like the name of an Irish punk band... 15 years ago today. I wonder if any other athlete from that issue is still active in their sport (never mind still playing at MVP levels)...
