More stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- Human lab rats. I couldn't do this but to each their own.

- Hockey players and fans are the best! Your feel good story for today.

- Heh Heh - Many a truth is said in jest!

- ChatGPT's liberal bias. Sadly for the people who designed the AI chat bot this isn't a bug - it's a feature.

Great Idea for the AHL

The AHL (or any hockey minor league) should stage these bouts between periods. It would make the break between periods longer but it would be well worth it for the fans. Have two one minute bouts in the break between the first and second period. Then have the winner of those two bouts "face off" between the break between the second and third.

How could this not be a big hit in the right environment?

Flotsam and Jetsam

Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.

Rumors are that the Biden Administration is set to allow vaccine mandate exemptions to any woman who can show she's had an abortion. A DNC spokesperson is quoted as saying, "We know what's important to our base. Abortion passports are the next big thing"... Voluntary Consent would be a good name for a band (or a new political party)... This is an excellent point... The Magical Abacus would be a good name for a sketchy accounting firm... Would be amused by a short animated video of hockey players telling each other on the ice, "Let's go boys!" Cut to the home fans saying, "Let's go boys!" and then the visiting fans doing the same. Then switch to a rugby pitch where the players and fans are doing the exact same thing. The two sports are very similar in mindset but you could never combine the two. Rugby with sticks would be very dangerous and on ice the combined sports would cause even more havoc. Although Rugby-Hockey the video game would be pretty cool... Think if you polled bartenders which item women tend to leave at a bar the most between cell phones, credit cards or little black sweaters - the little black sweater would win in a landslide... And yes - I know that field hockey is already a thing...

Flotsam and Jetsam

Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.

Seeing the victorious team skate the Stanley Cup around the ice starting with the team captain is one of my favorite traditions in all of sports. The pure joy on the face of each player as they hoist the Cup always puts a smile on my face no matter the team. And keep in mind this only happens after the traditional handshake line against the vanquished foe - another of my favorite traditions... Interesting - how the NCAA v Alston ruling effects college athlete "loss of value" insurance. Big schools will now insure top players for millions giving additional incentive for players to stay in school. Which in turn with help that school's marketability... Just a thought but with the NCAA v Alston Supreme Court ruling and NIL payments happening left and right - what is the reason or justification for college sports remaining non-taxable? Think that should change... Hockey players are the best (no inner dialogue whatsoever)...

Flotsam and Jetsam

Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.

Legendary hockey announcer Mike "Doc" Emrick announces his retirement. Be sure to watch the video in this tweet if you're a hockey fan. In my opinion the three greatest living sports announcers are Vin Scully, Al Michaels and Doc Emrick... Heh Heh... Churchill's Father After He Went Crazy From Syphilis would be a good name for a blog about crazy stories out of the British Isles (and there's plenty)... File under the more things change the more they stay the same; "The Democratic Party in power is a standing menace to the prosperity of the country." - Republican campaign motto from the 1888 election...An oldie but still funny - A Child's Prayer... Not sure what to make of this; despite Twitter blatantly censoring the NY Post and many outlets regarding stories of Hunter Biden's craven bribe seeking with the apparent knowledge and perhaps assistance of his dad - Twitter's stock seems unchanged by the tempest... And speaking of Hunter Biden - it can now be said with (almost) a straight face that the MSM is literally too busy masturbating to actually cover the story. This is CNN!...

Flotsam and Jetsam

Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.

"Never play by the rules. Never pay in cash. And never tell the truth." Ross Johnson former CEO of RJR Nabisco on what he called the three rules of Wall Street. After the past few days it seems clear those three rules apply to Capital Hill too... Good on hockey equipment manufacturer Bauer for helping by making face shields for health workers fighting the Wuhan virus... "When we are no longer able to change a situation , we are challenged to change ourselves." - Victor Frankl... Cool looking building in Idaho actually a nuclear reactor. If it were a home I'd love to live in it... In March of 1917 the US took possession of the US Virgin Islands (formerly the Danish West Indies) after paying Demark $25 million. Talk about great deals! That would be worth about $505 million is today's dollars... What a great movie quote for what we're all going through...

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- The trick is to just breathe. Ed Latimore reviews the Wim Hof method.

- Robot bees for exploring the surface of Mars (Marsbees - get it!)

- Very cool story - the mobster who bought his son a hockey team. They really should make this into a movie.

- Heh Heh

- Interesting view from Canada that says Canada should scrap NAFTA and instead rekindle what was once a special relationship with the US

- Dr Rhonda Patrick suggests this antioxidant might help old blood vessels seem younger

- 14 States hit record low unemployment. I have to wonder if this is due in part to the way unemployment is measured being changed under the Obama Administration. They tried to make the numbers not look so bad but now is that why they look so good?
