Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- Milky Way Galaxy is warped and twisted, not flat.

- Your move, pessimists

-  Interesting look at the staying power of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

- The rise and fall of superhero Robert Mueller. Matt Taibbi does a nice job in summarizing the religious furor the left gave to Mueller. Give Taibbi credit he does have a talent for turning a phrase.

- And speaking of good writing - this is an example of why Jackie Mac is the best NBA writer on the planet.

- Video reminder of why Ty Law was one of the greatest defensive backs in NFL history. Also made me smile to be reminded how much Law absolutely owned Peyton Manning.

- Dianne Francis on the bungled legalization of cannabis in Canada. That "black market dope continues to sell for nearly half the price of the legal stuff" is just the start of the issues in America's hat.

AG Bill Barr and the Mueller Report

Fascinating inside baseball look at "How President Trump's Legal Team Outfoxed [Robert] Mueller."

The article explains why Bill Barr was the only person considered by the Trump Administration for Attorney General. It also gets me a little excited for when AG Barr gets to be the one to ask the questions.

Let's Talk Some Politics

Are you not entertained? Why yes - yes I am entertained. Very entertained. So many Democratic candidates for President so much backbiting. So much entertainment. I seriously hope none of them drop out of the race before having a series of King of the Ring debates.

This week most of the supporters of candidates further back in the polls have set their sights on Joe Biden, who it should be mentioned has not even officially announced he's running. Suddenly the Democrats have "woken" up to the habits of Creepy Uncle Joe. Makes for great fun for those of us just observing.

Now we get to watch as supporters of Biden "punch back twice as hard" against the other candidates. What fun!

I mean who is not entertained by a good clown car? (Get used to that metaphor because you're going to see it a lot in the coming months.)

It's a trap!

The House of Representatives vote 420-0 to release the full Mueller Report to the public. None of the people voting know what details are in the report - saying they want the full un-redacted version released is a tactical mistake in my opinion. Most likely there are going to be details that harm the credibility of people like James Comey, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. And people like Adam Schiff are demanding these facts be put on the public record and he'd probably leak an un-redacted Mueller Report to the press to insure it happens. What a rube.

Flotsam and Jetsam

Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.

Is it ironic that the worst drivers can normally be found in the RMV parking lot circling for an open parking spot?... Victor Davis Hanson has a good summary of the 2-years of the Mueller Investigation... Sex Melon - band name or hipster cocktail? Fire Grilled Turtles - band name or hipster entree?... "The real act of discovery consists not in finding new lands, but in seeing with new eyes." - Marcel Proust... Men in Belted Sweaters - bad idea from the 70's or hipster band name?... Johannes Factorum would be a good name for a blog (roughly translated from the Latin it means "Jack of all trades")... The Cleveland Spiders supposedly changed the team name to the Indians in hs honor after his early, untimely death...

Flotsam and Jetsam

Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.

At this point the White House Correspondents Dinner should just cease to be out of pure shame over how Russiagate has been handled. This, of course, would assume these folks had any shame to begin with... Sometimes there's little or no difference between physics and magic... Why hasn't Taylor Swift commented on the Mueller Report yet? What is she hiding?... Deep thoughts from Chris - could Dark Matter simply be the leftover quantum entanglements from the matter and anti-matter that was annihilated just after the Big Band?... Cult of Inhibitions - band name or all-inclusive singles resort?... I tried watching the new Amy Schumer Netflix special. I lasted just 15 minutes. It was awful. AWFUL!... What is Dark Matter? Even the best theories are crumbling. (Maybe that's because my hypothesis hasn't been tested yet!)

The Mueller Report

Anyone paying attention could have long concluded that the Mueller Report was going to be completely anti-climatic.

Last June Mueller had to back away from the only indictments aimed at actual Russians. And those indictments were rightly viewed as mainly either a PR move or a fishing expedition.

Just this January the the Office of Robert Mueller had to issue a statement refuting Buzzfeed's claim that Attorney Michael Cohen was instructed to lie to Congress by President Trump. That was an extraordinary move by Mueller and an indication that even he had to acknowledge that the moonbat speculation was growing out of control for a report he knew would be deflating to those on the Left.

I once again post that quote from CS Lewis for you to keep in mind when seeing the reactions to the final findings of the Mueller Report by some elected officials and members of the media.

Also as an aside it will be interesting to see if the Left now goes after Robert Mueller for his past deeds as payback for not providing the "frogmarching" the MSM seemingly endlessly promised was coming.

Buzzfeed

The quote to the left is from CS Lewis and I couldn't help but think it applied to BuzzFeed's discredited story that President Trump instructed his attorney Michael Cohen to lie to Congress on his behalf. The story was directly refuted by the Office of Robert Mueller.

I agree with this opinion that BuzzFeed's "overreach" (to be kind) forced Special Counsel Mueller's hand to say the Buzzfeed report wasn't true and in doing so probably foreshadows the Special Counsel not having anything of consequence against the President.

The name of the site is "BuzzFeed" so we really shouldn't be shocked that they peddle click-bait falsehoods. One gets the feeling that the name BuzzFeed was chosen only because "NewsChum" was already taken or didn't test as well with focus groups. All the same I'm ashamed of the fact that I've had a link to BuzzFeed on my blogroll.

Even though I haven't clicked that link in probably a year - I've removed it. I don't want to make myself into a devil by participating in these types of things. I want to do better.

And I'd appreciate it if the media did better too!

- On the Cohen plea. The reputation of the FBI and the DOJ will lie in tatters when all is said and done.

- Tesla's Model 3 production seems to be surging. The company could be profitable in Q3.

- I love stories like this.

- The extra money in my paycheck are not "crumbs" to me

- Today I learned about Hingle McCringleberry. What did you learn about?

- Fibonacci is vastly underappreciated. The man and his works did change the world.

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- Interesting - foreign interests have spent over $534 million in lobbying efforts in the US since 2017. Not all of it is nefarious seeing how Tourism Ireland is the 3rd largest spending entity. China specifically targeting industries in "Red States" with tariffs and mid-term elections coming - now that's nefarious.

- Even with the apostrophe - still don't think I'm eating here

- Cool - the first dunk contest in 1976 featuring Dr. J vs David Thompson. Things have certainly changed in pro basketball in the decades since.

-  Watch an AI robot take all the fun out of Where's Waldo. If they ever train AI to find the G-spot men are finished!

- This is so awesome!

- This is also awesome!

- History will not be kind to the Mueller Investigation

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- The Mueller Investigation has truly turned into a farce. Charges against the Russians will be dropped and that will help Republicans in November and give AG Sessions the cover to end the Mueller Special Prosecutor's investigation completely. A farce!

- Love this! Not a soccer fan but definitely rooting for Iceland and Panama now. Meanwhile I can't root for England because of this extreme waste of beer! Wankers!

- Are bifacial (two sided) solar panels the next big thing?

- Got to love the Irish

- This is why the NFL can't have nice things. Let the man have M.D. on his jersey - he's earned it (unlike Roger Goodell and his salary).

- How have predictions about climate change held up over the last 30-years?

- Volvo will now be building cars on US soil in a $1.1 billion facility in South Carolina. How come we don't hear more about this in the news?
