Can We Finally Do Away with Using the Mercator Map?

As a kid I was always bothered by the fact that Australia was a continent while Greenland was not when to my youthful eyes - Greenland seemed so much bigger. Well that's because my eyes were being lied to by the Mercator map.

Maybe I still hold a grudge.
