Flotsam and Jetsam

Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.

We all know someone who was really sick back in February of 2020. Based on what we now know about the actual origins of the virus - what are the chances those folks really did have COVID back then? Starting to think the odds are pretty good... Harry Potter's resume... Remember when Obama said Obamacare would save the average family $2500 a year in health costs? That was a blatant lie. That was six years ago and I feel Obama and the Democrats owe my family $15,000 plus interest. Pay up - or at least admit you were blatantly lying and apologize to the American people... Very cool - the surface of Pluto... Who knew? The word "fad" is actually an acronym for "For a day"...  American households continue to have to spend less every year on food.  Good news although I think that trend may be reversed partially this year due to supply chain and inflation factors...

Flotsam and Jetsam

Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.

Say goodbye to the TV show COPS. Paramount Network and ViacomCBS have not just pulled the plug on the show but they plan to take the show out of syndication. Over 30+ seasons of the show now being tossed into the memory hole... Still say there should be a GoFundMe campaign to replace all of the statues of Confederate generals in the South with statues of Gregg Allman... Our daily struggle with "Time Famine"... If a monogamy gene could be isolated in humans - could future prenup agreements require that the gene be activated prior to marriage through CRISPR?... "'I'm a Reagan Republican,' That means I want growth-oriented tax policies, a strong, secure national defense, limited government and maximum individual liberty." - Peter Hannaford from 2003. That quote seems to crystallize most of my political beliefs... Wow - big difference!...

Linky Links

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- Heh Heh (am I showing my age laughing at that?)

- A suspense novelist's trail of deception. A fascinating long-read about a pathological liar turned bestselling author.

- Sadly it does sound familiar

- Wow -Pluto like you've never seen it before

- First Netflix came for Blockbuster. Now it's coming for the cable companies.

- Phil Michelson misses cut at Players Championship and denies he was distracted by off the course issues. I would so love to read a tell-all biography of Michelson. The golf, the gambling and the other rumors.

- NASA finally getting all the data from New Horizons fly-by of Pluto

- I don't want to spend a day at Dale Earnhardt Jr's estate. I want to live at Dale Earnhardt Jr's estate. If I can't live there then I would like to live in a tree house like the one he has.

- Tim Ferriss' breakfast routine
