Maybe anti-Semitism's root cause may be simple jealousy. Jews have long been known as "people of the book." Then came Guttenberg and his printing press and suddenly the Bible was the best seller and Christians were like "shouldn't we be the people of the book now?" And don't forget forget Islam and the Koran or what they consider the supreme book. Doubt it's that simple but it probably is a contributing factor.
