Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.
- How to Win: 4 Steps to Achieve Greatness. (Though for my money the fifth step is the key.)
- This is a real problem with our justice system.
- How to think for yourself. Well worth the read.
- What happened to "the Starship" - Led Zeppelin's Boeing 720
- Reasons why the 2020 Presidential election is deeply puzzling. I can see why so many have linked to or re-Tweeted this article.

Flotsam and Jetsam
Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.
For a long time I've thought about creating a Twitter account called "Darren Rovell's Toilet" in which I'd post snarky comments about the after effects of the ballpark and arena food Rovell is always posting about on Twitter from the viewpoint of his toilet. Decided against it because its just too much work (and too gross)... Kumail Nanjiani's amazing physical transformation from geek to super hero. Is it strange that I'd like to see a stand-up show with Kumail and Bert Kreischer just for the crowd reactions when each took off their shirts?... Led Zeppelin wins Stairway to Heaven copyright case. In my opinion there are glaring similarities but hey I'm neither a lawyer nor a judge... "He who knows, does not speak. He who speaks does not know." - Lao Tzu... The Libertarian have two guys on their Presidential ballot - one named Vermin Love Supreme and another named Dan Taxation Is Theft Behrman and you wonder why people don't take the Libertarians seriously... Word of the Day: Cenosillicaphobia - the fear of an empty glass (something I often seem to suffer from on the weekends)...

Flotsam and Jetsam
Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.
What if the drop in the British Pound was not due to the Brexit vote but due to the Led Zeppelin verdict instead?... Heh heh... On this day in 1916 the Battle of the Somme began. Over 1 million shells would be fired... Half Digested Peanuts would be a good name for a fantasy baseball team or band... Another reminder that things are different in Russia... "In the future everyone will be Oakland's Chief of Police for 15 minutes" - Andy Warhol... So does this mean Global Warming is over?...

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.
- Badger's animated Star Trek script from Breaking Bad
- Good summary of the Whitey Bulger verdict. Time was Whitey was huge news. Now he's a mostly forgotten old evil man.
- Speaking of the Whitey verdict - funny screen cap from MSNBC announcing the verdict
- But it is the insect excrement from God!
- Very cool tiger photo
- Isolated drum loop from Led Zeppelin's When the Levee Breaks. If I had a radio show I would use this as my intro music.
- Interesting look at comic book continuity and especially as it refers to Neil Gaiman's Sandman

Whole Lotta Helter Skelter
Wow - just freaking wow! Whole Lotta Helter Skelter (Led Zeppelin / Beatles mashup).
If this combined song was released for real I have no doubt it would debut at number 1 on the charts.

Flotsam and Jetsam
Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.
If the Vikings lose to the Lions on Sunday - what are the odds of Brett Favre retiring on Monday? 100-1 maybe?... Death by caffeine: how much will kill you? About 100 cups of coffee or 131 cans of Red Bull apparently... Just saying but if the Red Sox sweep the Yankees for the rest of the season then that only puts them 1.5 games back for the Wild Card. Yeah I'm grasping at straws.... On this day in 1911 - ground is broken in the building of Fenway Park. They don't make 'em like they used to... In honor of Goodfellas celebrating the 20th anniversary of its release - here a quiz on the movie. I got 100%... Michael Douglas turns 66 today while Catherine Zeta-Jones turns 41. I find it strange / interesting that they share the same birthday... Led Zepplin drummer John Bohnam died 30-years ago today. In his memory here's Zep playing Kashmir back in 1979.

Led Zeppelin
Led Zeppelin reunited last night for a concert and reports are that they were great. Of course it was impossible for all the original band members to reunite - with John Bonham dead and all - but they did the next best thing with Bonham's son Jason manning the drums. This was predicted almost 2-years to the very day in this very space:
Led Zeppelin reunited last night for a concert and reports are that they were great. Of course it was impossible for all the original band members to reunite - with John Bonham dead and all - but they did the next best thing with Bonham's son Jason manning the drums. This was predicted almost 2-years to the very day in this very space:
Chas [West] probably best known as the lead singer of the band Bonham. This is the band that was formed by Jason Bonham, the son of Led Zeppelin drummer and rock legend John Bonham. Like many rock legends - John Bonham died way too young.
When you sit next to a rock star you talk about rock music. We spoke about every subject that I could think of. I asked him how he got the gig with Bonham - he said it was simple, "I was the only one who could keep up with Jason when he was drinking." I asked if Led Zeppelin was ever getting back together with Jason Bonham taking his dad's spot in the band. Chas told me that they came close but this was back when Bonham was just starting out and Jason was seriously partying. Robert Plant was afraid that Jason was going down the same path to an early death as his dad and Plant wanted nothing to do with contributing to another tragedy. Now that Jason Bonham is clean and sober - the two concerns are tarnishing the bands legacy as the greatest rock band in history and Robert Plant's concern about hitting some of those high notes in some of the songs. Chas wouldn't rule out the band getting back together but if it happened he said it would be done the "English way" - with very little forewarning or publicity.
