Linky Links

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- Jonathan Turley: Newly released documents show officials brushed aside concerns with Mar-a-Lago raid.

- From the archives: Real life does not fit the narrative.

- YouTube gets the Oscars. I'd be less concerned with YouTube changing the format and more concerned with ABC burning down the house because the deal doesn't kick in until 2029.

- DOJ's Clinton Foundation probe marred by conflicts of interest.

More Linky Links

More stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- Using scare economic projections to push a climate change hoax? How dare they!

- A YouTube education. I would add Richard Feynman's lectures on physics and historian Sarah Paine.

- The Varsity takes the field. Keeping Hegseth in reserve allows Trump to keep military retaliation on the table without anyone asking Hegseth directly. He could be the bad cop.

- Jonathan Turley on the Clinton Foundation. Don't think there's any statue of limitations on RICO charges.

Flotsam and Jetsam

Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.

Went to a cigar bar last night for a post meal smoke and to watch some football. After just a few minutes I heard them playing Dick in a Box over the speakers. Even at a cigar bar you can't get away from the Christmas music...  Clinton Foundation "donations" down 90%. On positive note - at least this makes it easier for authorities to identify the 10% who are using the Clinton Foundation to launder money... Thanksgiving in Philadelphia... "Out of clutter, find simplicity. From discord, find harmony. In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity." - Albert Einstein... Heh Heh... Free business idea: T-shirts that say "Got Fists?" on the front with an NHL team's logo. On the back a picture of that team's best fighter with the gloves dropped... How long can people live?...

Michael Cohen "Retainer"

I admit that whenever I've seen a story of Michael Cohen peddling his access to Donald Trump to firms like Novartis all I can picture is this scene from Good Will Hunting:

I also agree with this 100%.

Now let's see how much money the firms like Novartis or AT&T gave to the Clinton Foundation for comparison's sake.

You're suspect. Yeah the lot of ya. I don't know what your reputations are in this town, but after the shit that's been publicly aired here, you bet we should be looking into the way "business" is done in DC.

Flotsam and Jetsam

Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.

If you play The Christmas Shoes on the jukebox - I should be allowed to throw darts at you. No exceptions!... Heh heh... Juicy Throwup would be a good name for a band (or a product cross between Juicy Fruit gum and Redman tobacco)... If the Clinton Foundation was a publicly traded company - how do you think they would be doing? The opposite of BitCoin maybe?... Love Jimmy G! Also love how he yells "Let's Go!" at the end. The connection with Brady will be forever... Louis CK's Erotic Handshake would be a good name for a band (or his next comedy special)... Heh heh - love the looks on the guys on the benches...

- The tree lobsters are dead! Long live the tree lobsters! (As an aside Tree Lobsters would be a great name for a band)

- Awesome! Beastie Boys / Muppets mashup

- Things like this make me so angry. Not angry with McKayla for coming forward but red-hot anger at the scum would would take advantage of her in this way. I agree with McKayla's four suggested changes and would assume anyone with any decency would too.

- Researchers discover that memories form and get recalled along two distinct circuits in the brain. This could be very relevant towards Alzheimer's research.

- 27 million men, women and children still live as slaves today! 27 million! Why more civilized people aren't outraged at this baffles me.

- Timeline: The Clintons, the Russians and Uranium.

- 21-years of Joe Buck hyping (mostly) forgotten Fox shows

Political Corruption

**WARNING - HERE BE TALK OF POLITICS**

As I've gotten older I've become less and less political. I think that's because I've come to believe that both parties are equally rotten to the core. The current kerfuffle over Donald Trump's "conflict of interests" regarding his businesses and his duties as President is a perfect example of this.

Will foreign nations try to curry favor by staying at Trump hotels and playing golf at Trump resorts? Absolutely! Will they also try to curry favor by trying to do other business deals with him? Again - absolutely! I don't mind this so much because it is more out in the open and transparent then say a gift to the Clinton Foundation for example. Recently it was revealed that Norway has cut their donations to the Clinton Foundation by 90%. Is this because the Clinton Foundation has stopped doing worthwhile charitable things or because the power and influence of the Clinton's were crippled when Hillary lost the election?

The Trump University settlement? During the campaign it was made clear by the media that Trump University was a scam from top to bottom. But maybe if that same media hadn't tried to portray Mitt Romney as a bigoted, misogynist, shady business man the public might have believed them when a real bigoted, misogynist, shady business man actually appeared. Besides - I'm glad Trump did the right thing and settled the case so it wouldn't be hanging over his Presidency.

Going back to Trump's hotel business - am I the only one who remembers the stories written with glee about how Trump's campaign was hurting his business? Who is really surprised the opposite is happening now that he won? Besides for every foreign delegation - there's an NBA team or Hollywood star boycotting Trump properties.

It's the nature of the beast. Get over it!
