The federal workforce has been reduced to 1966 levels but is still at 2.67 million employees - so there is still work to do in shrinking the government. At the same time this is happening the economy keeps growing and more net jobs get added every month. Plus the number of federal regulations keep shrinking. These facts are not unrelated.
