"on the Radar", I can't remember how many times I took the watch in the Combat Information Center on a ship in the Middle East in Condition III wartime steaming with the weapons manned and ready 24/7 when underway, only to find that some idiot had switched the air search radar to display just IFF and it wasn't even painting the aircraft, just reading the IFF from cooperative air contacts.
