Are you now - or have you ever been a steroids user?

OK - former big league pitcher Jack McDowell says, "He [Cubs ace pitcher Mark Prior] has a tendon injury that's not healing. You shouldn't have a problem like that that doesn't heal in a month. That's what happens to guys who use steroids."

This comes on the heels of former big league pitcher Jim Palmer questioning former Oriole Brady Anderson who had a monster 50-HR season seemingly out of nowhere in 1996.

This is going to be an interesting season. McDowell made his reputation as a Chicago White Sox player. Prior is a Chicago Cubs star. Girls in the greater Baltimore area quickly forgot underwear guy Palmer when Brady and his side-burns came into town. Who's next for the steroids allegation?

Maybe Rolando Arrojo (who was once known as the greatest pitcher to defect from Cuba) comes out and says something like, "Hey - look at Jose Contreras. That acne isn't natural. Everyone knows that Castro had all the players on steroids after I left."

Maybe Matt Stairs (who could be the all-time Canadian home run king if it wasn't for Larry Walker) comes out and says something like, "Hey look at the weight Walker lost this off-season. That's because he must be off the roids."

Who's next for these sort of allegations? What's next - a House hearing where the players are called to answer the question, "Are you now or have you ever been a steroids user?"
