Global Warming is a Hoax

"April 2023 cooler in the US than 1895, despite a 1000% increase in industrial era atmospheric CO2. Emissions-driven warming is a total hoax." Data via NOAA. (Via)

  1. I don't think that chart is accurate, whatever the source. Most climatologists, including AGW "skeptics", agree that the earth has been warming since the end of the Little Ice Age in the mid-1800s. How much is debated, usually put at between 1 and 2 degrees Celsius. There is also general agreement that human activity has contributed to it, though no one knows how much. It's certainly true that the warming trend began before the vast increase in CO2 output in the mid-20th century. It seems that all the climate alarmism stems from computer models that rely on "forcing" effects that would drive global temperatures to deadly levels . . . although such effects have never been observed in nature.

I think the best overview of the issue is by Warren Meyer ("Coyoteblog") who lays it out clearly and succinctly in terms a layman can understand. See his Forbes article here: https://www.forbes.com/sites/warrenmeyer/2012/02/09/understanding-the-global-warming-debate/?sh=1b3463cc3956.

  2. The source is NOAA - the official US federal source. NOAA does not dispute these numbers. Aren't we supposed to follow the science?

If you go back further than the Little Ice Age - what does the data say? That amount of time is a blip on the scale of things but is conveniently used tor these purposes.

Following the science and models is how we got where we are. Their science is intentionally flawed, the models are not reliable and yet the world is gearing up to deny everyone cheap energy. Never you mind that nobody asked for the end of society. The world is being ground between the millstones of taxation and inflation intentionally so any alternative they give will be a viable answer . It is past time to break their system before they end the world economy .

  3. JKS, this looks like a chart of raw temperature data, not adjusted data. The adjustments are a mess, and I think it's very plausible to question whether there was any warming at all during the 20th century.

Myer has quite rightly questioned how the adjustments have been done since that article you linked.

Certainly we do see that new high temperature records are not being set.

I've more or less stopped blogging about climate because nobody cares, but here's an assessment of the state of the science from a few years back: https://borepatch.blogspot.com/2017/03/a-laymans-guide-to-science-of-global.html
