There's a new book out called Debunking Howard Zinn. While I probably won't find the time to read this book I have read Zinn's
A People's History of the United States a couple of decades ago and I'm glad I did. Don't get me wrong - the book is crap and deserves all the derision it gets but by reading the book I know first-hand how bad it skewers the truth.
The reason I bring all this up is to recommend the book A Patriot's History of the United States by Michael Allen and Larry Schweikart. This was another book that was written in part to combat the misinformation from Zinn and I can't recommend it enough.
