New York high court to determine if Bronx Zoo elephant is a person. You don't need a high court to answer this - an elephant is an elephant not a person.
We are truly living in the crazy years where a Supreme Court Justice can't tell what a woman is because she's not a biologist while courts in New York are pondering if an elephant is a person. WTF?
I think the judge should rule in favor of the plaintiffs with the proviso that the elephant should be housed, say, a month at a time in succession in the homes of each of the instigators of the lawsuit. If the basement isn't big enough then the garage, back yard, whatever -- but on their property. With stiff penalties for failure to provide sufficient fodder, exercise, etc.
