Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- I for one welcome our AI weathermen on our smartphones.

Where does Matt Araiza go to get his reputation back.

- When the New York Times lost its way. Corporate media is dying a slow death of its own making. Common ground of shared facts no longer exist in corporate media.

- Jonathan Turley on the Biden impeachment

  1. Weather: Given all the computer models currently in use, I, in Central Florida, will be very interested in how AI handles the 2024 hurricane season.

Araiza: Like many businesses, and journalism in particular, first, not right, seems to be the mantra. The Bills' action reminds me of the companies that jumped on the BLM bandwagon before knowing what BLM's stated philosophy was/is.

The Times: Also see Ted Cruz' "Unwoke", Chapter Three.

Geez, Chris, you pushed three of my buttons in a single post! :-)

  2. I mean to serve. Curious if you use a server or desktop for weather predictions.

    1. Not so much predictions as observation of good data (almost same as your local TV) and guesswork. Guess that makes me a junior weatherperson, eh? :-)

I run https://www.grlevelx.com/grlevel3_2/ software. Amazing stuff once it is set up with whatever data inputs you want. I also have a Davis Instruments system on a 22' pole for local data. Heh. Many years ago I got a call from the local golf course asking if they could use my data (used to publish realtime on a site) for their course irrigation while their system was down. Sure. A year later when I checked they were still using it. I took that site down 3 years ago though. Too much work.
