Linky Links

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- Northrop says it is on schedule with next generation OmegaA rocket.

- The audio to this video was oddly satisfying

- The controversial experiments and Wuhan lab suspected of starting the coronavirus pandemic. From Newsweek - not Info Wars. No longer a conspiracy theory but a real possibility.

- Barack Obama reads Trump's Inaugural Address (Speech Synthesis).  Disconcerting how the same words can be approved or disapproved of based upon who says them.

- This was a beautiful photo of Scripps Pier in San Diego. The Moon, Venus and bio-luminescence from plankton. Via.

- Interesting - Will the Iranian regime survive the coronavirus Wuhan Virus outbreak?

- This video is funny, sad, and scary all rolled into one. (Could not find it on YouTube.) And as a reminder - "Joe Biden" is an anagram for "I need job"

Niall Ferguson and Hit the Road Barack

Many people are talking about Newsweek's cover story - Hit the Road Barack (Niall Ferguson: Obama's Gotta Go). Excellent argument by Ferguson that we are not so much faced with a decision of style vs substance as the choice a parent has with a sick child with a high fever choosing to continue with an acupuncture-type cure or actually get the doctor to prescribe antibiotics.

I've been a fan of Ferguson since reading his Ascent of Money. If you have a chance - watch Ferguson on a panel discussing what has happened to the American Dream. Ferguson by far outshines the other notable panelists.

I also highly recommend Niall Ferguson's 6 Killer Apps of Prosperity.
