More stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- The Nitrogen Trap. People know the Strait of Hormuz carries 20% of the world's oil supply but a closed strait also endangers one-third to 50% of the world food supply because of fertilizer. Long but important read.

- Meet the real villain behind the death of Cinderella in the NCAA tournament. He's not wrong.

- A love letter to the sane women holding it down.

- Dr. Robert Malone: Rogue judge strikes again.

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- Javier Milei and rent control. This is the way. We've known for decades that rent control is a bad policy.

- From the archives: Paul Graham - How to Think for Yourself.

- We need to talk about Ken Burns' American Revolutionary War documentary. Burns originally wanted to cut Shelby Foote from his Civil War documentary. That's all you need to know about his sensibility.

- Jonathan Turley: GWU students call for RFK Jr. to be barred from campus.

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- Why Congress should let the enhanced ACA subsidies expire. Agree 100%.

- From the archives: Do other countries do it? A simple litmus test for RFK Jr's ideas.

- Antisemitism and Anti-Americanism are Evil Twins. Agree 100%.

- Energy and the EU. "National security requires AI. AI requires energy." Not a fan of solar though.

More stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- Rob Henderson on Why Cancel Culture is Fading. Disagree with his takes on DEI and Cracker Barrel but his overall premise is correct.

- Glenn Reynolds from Rabble Rousing to Rabble Snoozing. The corporate media is evil.

- Why Washington's panic over Kennedy tells us he's close to the truth. Think it's a mistake to pair RFK Jr. with President Trump. His active allies are doctors the establishment tried to censor or cancel because they were speaking the truth about Covid.

- Trump's national Guard deployment and the art of the 80/20 issue.

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- Robert F. Kennedy Jr.: A voice that won't be silenced.

- JK Rowling had a lot more to lose by standing up for women in sports than Malcom Gladwell ever did.

- The occult guide to the good life. More common sense than anything but good advice.

- So you want to abolish property taxes. Have no problem with property taxes but they have to be limited by law else politicians will spend the money.

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- Science policy without science or policy. I'd like to see a DOGE-like accounting of what made up all those cuts. I want more science but not tax dollars spent of excessive university overhead in grants, DEI related studies, or funding putting beagles in cages to be eaten by fleas.

- He's not wrong.

- Ross Dellenger on Bill Belichick at UNC.

- Ultra processed food may not be the real dietary villain. Should be pointed out that food ingredients in the UK are different to what's allowed in the US. Think good advice is just to shop on the outside of a supermarket. (HT Newmark's Door)

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- RFK Jr. on the American Academy of Pediatricians and vaccines. "First do no harm" has been replaced by "show me the money" even by doctors who treat children.

- Is this satire or true?

- Are utility company middlemen the villains behind higher electric bills? Not AI datacenters as reported.

- Agree 100% that security clearance is a privilege and not a right. No reason for anyone to still have clearance after leaving the job or retiring.

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- Trump suggests plan to fully  privative Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac. Don't know enough about the situation to have an opinion.

- RFK Jr. claims food stamps are fueling diabetes in America. He said 18% of food stamps are spent on soda and candy and that has to stop.

- VDH: Disinformation and the dropping of the atomic bombs. If you know the facts - there's only one conclusion.

- Gravity, Momentum, and the Potential Energy Field. Won't lie - it will take some work for me to come close to grasping this concept. But like many things it could be perception altering.

How the Democrats Can Get Their MOJO Back

Run a ticket of RFK Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard for President in 2028.

The DNC needs to embrace RFK Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard. Each person ran as a Democratic candidate for President before and they need to do so again in order to save the Democratic Party.

I don't expect the DNC to take this advice but at least I'll get to say I told you so.

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- VDH on Gavin Newsome and his cruel notion of "cruel."

- Jonathan Turley on Democrats protesting the deployment of National Guard troops. Gavin Newsome is despicable.

- This story just makes me smile: IDF will force antisemite Greta Thunberg to watch Oct 7th footage. Good - about time she received an education.

- More on JFK Jr. removing all member of CDC panel advising US on vaccines. I think any media outlet that described RFK Jr. as a "vaccine skeptic" should be forced to defend the effectiveness of the Covid vaccine. If they admit the shots weren't effective - they too should be labeled as "vaccine skeptics."

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- Joint Us-China statement on economic trade meeting. The very definition of a reciprocal trade agreement.

- RFK Jr. says Trump just did what no Democrat ever had the guts to do. This is a huge moment.

- VDH: The Decivilizing of America. It needs to be stressed that this was intentional.

- Should public sector unions have collective bargaining rights? On he fence on this issue. On one hand unfunded (or underfunded) retirement benefits for public sector employees is one f the biggest under reported stories of our time. On the other hand local and state governments call for high standards without wanting to offer commiserate pay.

Casey Means

Saw a clip of a speech of Dr. Casey Means who was Donald Trump's pick to be Surgeon General. and was impressed. Also saw people like

All supporting her. But then I saw this tweet by Nicole Shanahan and didn't know what to think.

Today RFK Jr. posted his own position on X and his position on Casey Means pick:
The absurd attacks on Casey Means reveal just how far off course our healthcare conversations have veered, and how badly entrenched interests--including Big Food and its industry-funded social media gurus--are terrified of change.
I should learn to trust my own opinion. Heard Casey and her brother Calley on the Joe Rogan podcast and was impressed.
