More Linky Links

More stuff I found interest or amusing and thought I'd share.

- Abolish corporate run gambling? If cigarettes are also addicting and bad for your health - could we likewise prohibit gambling ads?

- Funny because it could be true!

- Peter Attia: Does eating more protein burn more calories? Yes but its complicated.

- Miami Hurricanes football is a flat circle.

Linky Links

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- Science policy without science or policy. I'd like to see a DOGE-like accounting of what made up all those cuts. I want more science but not tax dollars spent of excessive university overhead in grants, DEI related studies, or funding putting beagles in cages to be eaten by fleas.

- He's not wrong.

- Ross Dellenger on Bill Belichick at UNC.

- Ultra processed food may not be the real dietary villain. Should be pointed out that food ingredients in the UK are different to what's allowed in the US. Think good advice is just to shop on the outside of a supermarket. (HT Newmark's Door)

Linky Links

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- From the archives: 55 movies with a 99 score on Rotten Tomatoes.  I've only seen 8 of the movies so I have some work to do.

- Peter Attia on the new federal dietary guidelines. "Recommendations to limit meat and eggs are overly simplistic and misleading." Solution - make Al Michaels the spokesman.

- "All for One and One for All." Food for thought though I'd argue the phrase "Think globally - act locally" my be the more apt saying.

- The squared circle - a simple symbol filled with secrets. Many may also recognize this symbol as the basis of much of Harry Potter lore.

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- Cool - instead of paint by numbers - Lego's by number. Might have to give this product a try, (HT Recommendo)

- Matt Stoller explain the TikTok ban. After reading this I'm more in favor of a ban and glad I never downloaded the app.

- The updated red meat story. So hard to know what the right diet is. Still say the best advice is just eat real foods from the outsides of the grocery store. If you're eating something from an aisle - it's probably processed food.

- Jonathan Turley: "This is CNN" (and modern media)

Linky Links

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- Michael Wade: A few Great Leadership Novels. A good list of books. Read (or re-read) many of the titles and those I haven't - have added them to my reading list.

- Diets are bad. Ignoring child obesity is even worse, Good food and exercise should be common sense.

- Jets find a novel way to lose. Read it with a smile but don't be surprised if the NYJ pull the upset on Thursday night just to keep the interest in the soap opera going.

- VDH: The ordeal and triumph of Mr. Netanyahu.
