I don’t think it’s a meaningful comparison. A given drug sold here costs $80,000/year but the same drug sells for a fraction of that everywhere else in the world. We suffer with insurance schemes and the rest of the developed world does socialized medicine and Hell, Canada now just kills anyone that has health issues which has to cut the costs somehow.
Think the high costs are a reflection of our broken insurance structure. Think our low life expectancy is a reflection of our overall obesity, poor diet, and lack of exercise.
