Have a new miscellaneous thoughts and observations post up on Substack.
At what point do we stop saying one of Donald Trump's Executive Orders was done as soon as he took office? Is this like Larry David's rule for saying "Happy New Year?" That you can't say it after the 3rd of the year because it's no longer "new?" Trump fired Coast Guard Admiral Linda Fagan for prioritizing DEI over core responsibilities. Think the firing is well deserved but is it still one of his first acts?

I think it depends on when the comment is made. In 2026 or later, anything done in January 2025 will be called one of his first acts in office.
ReplyDeleteThink you're right. If it something in a newspaper or report detailing a current Trump action - saying "one of his first acts" no longer applies at this point. But if describing this Administration - it would apply to anything in his first 100 days.
