Robert Oppenheimer and the Bhagavad Gita

Many know that Robert Oppenheimer famously said. "Now I have become Death, the destroyer of worlds," after the first atomic bomb explosion. But his favorite passage from the Bhagavad Gita was reportedly:

In battle, in forest, at the precipice in the mountains
On the dark great sea, in the midst of javelins and arrows...
In sleep, in confusion, in the depths of shame,
The good deeds a man has done before defends him
