Happy Lent to all that observe. Piece of history but the McDonald's Filet O' Fish was actually started in 1962 by a Cincinnati franchise whose customers where mainly Catholics who would not eat hamburgers on a Friday during Lent. That was really hurting business. Corporate saw the success the Filet O' Fish was having and it was added to the menu. The rest is history.
