Attack Your Weekend with the Zest of a Drunk David Hasselhoff Attacking a Cheeseburger

No idea why I'm hassling the Hoff but this video just popped into my head. And yes there's no audio to that video (copyright issue maybe?). Happy Friday!

Chrysippus

Ancient Greek philosopher Chrysippus died of laughter. He got his donkey drunk and then couldn't stop laughing while watching the donkey trying to eat figs.

That was the ancient equivalent of watching drunk David Hasselhoff eat a cheeseburger I guess.

Hooked on a Feeling - David Hasselhoff

Don't hassle the Hoff. Especially when he's hooked on a feeling! Love this hokey video!

Hooked on a Feeling

Supposedly the re-boot of Cosmos uses the song Hooked on a Feeling. I can't think of that song without thinking of David Hasselhoff (praise be his name).

Top 5 - Questions for a Sunday Morning

Five questions I'm wondering about this Sunday morning:

1. A perfect baseball game is 27 straight outs. I wonder if there's ever been the opposite of a perfect game - 27 straight hits?

2. If David Hasselhoff came out with a book of poetry - would Germany name him Poet Laureate?

3. Just a reminder during the Iraq / Iran war the US remained on the sidelines hoping both sides wiped each other out. Why not the same strategy in Syria?

4. I wonder how many people who were so upset when it looked like Twinkies were going away have bought some since they returned?

5. Will the Patriots cover the 10 points today?

Linky Links

Stuff I found interesting and thought I'd share.

- Bill James not only wants to rid the world of the unnecessary bunt but also thinks that eventually we will get rid of murder. Interesting interview.

- The dog days of summer are the proper time to argue over who was the greater NBA center - Rick Robey or Greg Ostertag

- Time-lapse photography of a dust storm in Arizona. I find the photography very cool but am concerned about damage dust storm did. Like seeing an accident on the side of the road not knowing if there was a fatality.

- David Hasselhoff is coming to "Sons of Anarchy."

- Swamp Ass PSA starring Nathan Fillion. Am I the only one who things to could market knock off Gold Bond Powder as Swamp Ass Powder?

- Very cool and thought provoking video. Where Good Ideas Come From by Steven Johnson. I look forward to the book.

- Mathieu Bich Fooled Penn and Teller. Very cool magic trick.

Flotsam and Jetsam New Year's Day Edition

Miscellaneous New Year's Day thoughts and observations.

Per Covers.com - if you bet $100 on every game the Red Sox played this past decade you would have lost a total of -$1,170. If you bet $100 on every game the Yankees played this past decade you would have lost a total of -$5,233... Today is JD Salinger's 91st birthday but of course he easily could have died years ago under an assumed name and nobody would know.... Did anyone get Hasselhoff drunk last night? Now I want a cheeseburger... Interesting stat via Dan Wetzel: Teams TCU beat are 6-0 in bowl games. TCU beat those teams by an average of 20.8 points... I wish Rooney Rule meant every team had to interview at least one Irish-American. We got screwed over during the No Irish Need Apply Era... Happy 30th birthday to Elin Nordegren. Her first New Year's Eve and birthday as a quasi single woman. I'm there for you Elin if you need comforting... Today I like West Virginia over Florida State and Oregon over Ohio State...
