Monday Flotsam and Jetsam

While pleased the Patriots beat the Bills yesterday, I realize the bigger story is Brazil's presidential race going to a second round as Flavio Bolsonaro leads incumbent Luna. Ever since the money spigot at USAID was shut down the "far right" is 8-0 in South American elections. If all these people all voting for freedom instead of repression - why is our media still calling them "far right."

Realize that I tend to avoid or skip some of the bigger "news of the day" items - like the Cornell 7 or the attempted hijacking in the Middle East. Those events are covered elsewhere in great detail and I have nothing that could add to or change to either. Both are out of my control - so I let them be.

Saturday Flotsam and Jetsam

Pitt won last night 35-33 when Virginia Tech "missed" a last second field goal. There's a growing conspiracy of if the kick actually missed and the ending of maybe becoming as controversial as the extra second added to the end of the Western Michigan-Michigan game. Is there a reason field goals like this aren't reviewed? Can you imagine the controversy if the call was overturned?
