Here's one man's guess on how the current coaching carousel for the major programs may shake out.
- Ole Miss - they stay with Lane Kiffin but he gets a big pay raise. Why would he move from Oxford? The grass isn't always greener elsewhere (just ask Brian Kelly).
- LSU - Tulane coach Jon Sumrall. They keep the job instate this time. Joe Brady might be another choice but have the feeling he wants to concentrate on getting Buffalo their Super Bowl ring.
- Florida - Washington coach Jed Fisch was a Gators alum and was an assistant to Steve Spurrier. If he gets the ol' ball coach's blessing - he gets the job.
- Penn State - Syracuse coach Fran Brown. They keep the job in the northeast because that's where their best players come from and Brown can coach.
- UCLA - former Northwestern coach Pat Fitzgerald
- Arkansas - Jimbo Fisher. It's time to come out of buy-out retirement - just hope for his sake the modern game hasn't passed him by.
- Virginia Tech - former Penn State coach James Franklin
- Oklahoma State - Bob Chesney VCU (and former Holy Cross) coach
Some of the coaches leaving existing jobs for new ones will also opened up new jobs but trying to pick those is really getting in the weeds. The open job at Stanford is a bit of a wildcard too.
