Big day as President Trump and China's President Xi meet to hopefully finalize a new trade deal. Reminder the US had threatened 100% tariffs which in effect would have closed off the US market to China's manufacturers. Meanwhile China had closed off sale of rare earth metals and processing something US military and technology manufacturers badly need. But Trump's recent trade and peace deals basically broke the Chinese monopoly on rare earths and may have taken them out of the US supply chain altogether. The US markets remain. Should be an interesting day.
